Chelsea Form
Chelsea suffered their seventh defeat in eight matches when they lost 3-0 away to Brighton in the Premier League.
Chelsea’s horror season has been made worse with an injury list of eight top-class players who are likely to be unavailable for selection. Leading goal-scorer Joao Pedro (14 goals in 32 matches) is on the treatment table and unlikely to feature in the match.
Leeds Form
Leeds are unbeaten in their last seven matches, racking up four wins and three draws in that stretch. They have conceded just eight goals in their last 10 matches.
Leeds showed their class in pulling off a 2-1 win away from home against Man United as they look to stave off the threat of relegation. They have conceded on goal or less in eight of their last 10 matches, conceding two goals in each of the other two matches.
Chelsea vs Leeds Team News & Squads
Chelsea stars Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer have been working hard to gain match fitness after their injury troubles. However, Ilia Gruev’s meniscus injury has ended his season while Jayden Bogle’s foot injury has made him a major doubt for selection.
Chelsea (possible XI): Robert Sánchez, Malo Gusto, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana, Jorrel Hato, Moisés Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, Roméo Lavia, Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernández, Liam Delap.
Leeds are holding thumbs for a major boost to their chances of winning through to the final, with three players likely to return from the treatment table. Midfielder Ilia Gruev is definitely sidelined with a knee injury for the rest of the season. On the plus side, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Jayden Bogle and Anton Stach have all recovered from their injuries and all are reportedly available for selection in one of the club’s biggest matches in decades.
Leeds United (possible XI): Karl Darlow, James Justin, Jaka Bijol, Pascal Struijk, Jayden Bogle, Ao Tanaka, Ethan Ampadu, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Brenden Aaronson, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Noah Okafor.
