Last updated: 1 hour ago

The Premier League is heating up with exciting fixtures ahead. A thrilling encounter is expected between Chelsea and Leeds, promising multiple goals. Bournemouth is predicted to outsmart Everton on their home turf, while Tottenham and Newcastle are likely to end in a draw. In another draw prediction, West Ham looks set to hold Manchester United. Key betting tips include total match goals exceeding 3.5 in Chelsea's clash, a Bournemouth win valued at 2.9, and a Tottenham draw at 3.5.

English Premier League Predictions - Matchday 26

Chelsea vs Leeds

Leeds shocked Chelsea at home in December, beating them 3-1. The Yorkshire side are fighting hard to stay in the Premier League, but away to Chelsea I just don’t see them coming away with even a point. Chelsea have won six of their last seven games in all competitions, scoring three goals a game in four of their last five matches. They have netted 23 times in their last 10 games, so I’m smelling a goalfest loading.

Leeds have lost just two of their last 10 matches, picking up four wins, scoring 17 goals, which also hints at plenty of goals to thrill the crowd at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have six wins and just two defeats at home in their last 10, while Leeds have won just once on the road in 10 games, which was against Derby in the FA Cup. They won’t roll over for Chelsea, but it should be a comfortable win for the Londoners… and the goals should flow from both sides.

Everton vs Bournemouth

Eighth-placed Everton won’t have given up on qualifying for Europe, but for Bournemouth it seems like they have just position left to play for this season, despite having played some excellent football. Both sides have won two and drawn two of their last four matches, but Bournemouth have won four of their last five meetings with Everton so, with no pressure on them, they might well test the limits of the Toffees.

Everton have lost four of their last eight League matches at home and have lost three of their last five home games in all competitions, with two draws. Everton have scored one goal or less in seven of their last 10 matches, scoring just 11 goals, while Bournemouth have scored 19 in the same period, including a magnificent 3-2 home win over Liverpool. I’m backing the Cherries to take the points from Everton.

Tottenham vs Newcastle

Both sides have underperformed and will have their fans shaking their heads, with Spurs far from safe from relegation and Newcastle sitting just four points above them. Newcastle have lost their last three League games, with just one point in four games, and also suffered the pain of a 5-1 aggregate defeat to Man City in the League Cup semi-final.

Spurs haven’t won in seven League matches, losing three of those matches and drawing four. They picked up good wins in Europe in that time (2-0 vs Dortmund and 2-0 vs Eintracht Frankfurt). Newcastle have lost five and drawn two of their last eight games in all competitions. Both sides have won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five games in all competitions, so considering how messy their seasons have been it seems appropriate to back this as a low-scoring, dull draw.

West Ham vs Man United

The Hammers are closing the gap on Forest as they look to escape the relegation trapdoor. They have won three of their last four League matches and have turned the corner on what has been a frustrating season. Man United are pushing for a top four spot but there’s hot competition with Chelsea on their tail and Aston Villa and Man City both playing winning football.

United have won four on the trot and haven’t lost in the League in eight matches and are looking formidable, although their away form is patchy. While they raised their game to beat Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates, their previous three matches saw them lose to Aston Villa and then draw with Leeds and Burnley, two teams caught up in the relegation battle. West Ham have won two and drawn one of their last three League matches against the Red Devils, as well as winning their last three home games against Man United. I see this one ending as a hard-fought draw.

Verdict

Looks like a goalfest between Chelsea and Leeds, while Bournemouth should outsmart Everton on the road.

Tottenham to share the points with Newcastle, while West Ham to turn the tables on high-flying Man United to also eke out a draw.
