English Premier League Predictions - 10 May, Matchday 36

Editor
Last updated: 09 May 2026

On Premier League Matchday 36 (May 10, 2026), Aston Villa are favored to comfortably beat Burnley, bolstered by Europa League momentum. Crystal Palace vs Everton is predicted to end as a score draw, given Palace's home strength and Everton’s patchy away form. Notts Forest, still fighting relegation, are tipped to defeat a Newcastle side already winding down their season. West Ham vs Arsenal is expected to finish level, with both teams desperate for points but recent form making it tough to separate them.

English Premier League Predictions - 10 May 2026, Matchday 36

Burnley vs Aston Villa

Burnley have lost the relegation battle but Villa are one win from securing Champions League football next season.

Villa have lost their last two League matches. Burnley haven’t won in their last 10 matches and have knocked in just eight goals in that stretch, so they are primed for a beating. They have also lost five of their last six matches at home, without scoring in their last three.

Villa’s form isn’t brilliant and they lost three matches on the bounce before clinching their place in the Europa League final by beating Notts Forest 4-0 on Thursday. They have won four of their last eight matches in all competitions so they will be fully charged to hammer Burnley.

Crystal Palace vs Everton

Everton have an outside chance of Europe next season while Palace are most likely safe from relegation. Everton have just two points from their last four matches while Palace have five points from five matches but have lost their last two matches.

Palace are strong at home and haven’t been defeated in their last eight matches while Everton have just one point from their last three matches on the road, although they went six matches undefeated before that. This is looking like an even tussle, so I’m backing a score-draw.

Notts Forest vs Newcastle

Newcastle’s season is basically over but Forest are still looking over their shoulder at the relegation fight and are not yet safe. Forest will be bruised and battered after their 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final, but their season has been brilliant, remaining undefeated in their previous 10 matches.

Newcastle ended a five-match losing streak by beating Brighton 3-1 at home, but Forest have more skin in this game so I’m backing them to bounce back and take the win to secure their Premier League status for next season.

West Ham vs Arsenal

Arsenal will have one hand on the Premier League title if they beat West Ham, so they will come out all guns blazing. West Ham have plenty to play for as a win would take them out of the drop zone ahead of the last two matches of the season. The Hammers picked up seven points from three matches before losing their last match away to Brentford.

Arsenal have won three of their last four matches with clean sheets, drawing the fourth match 1-1. West Ham’s results have been really unpredictable, and with Arsenal themselves having had a bit of a wobble in the last month I’m going out on a limb and predicting a score draw.

Arsenal have just one win in their last five matches on the road, while West Ham have lost just one of their last nine matches at home.

With West Ham fighting for their life and Arsenal desperate to keep ahead of the title race, this is the sort of match where the unexpected happens, and for me that sounds like a score draw, which also offers great odds.

Verdict

Wins for Aston Villa and Notts Forest, while Crystal Palace-Everton and West Ham-Arsenal to both end all-square.
