Aston Villa vs Brentford

Brentford are fourth on the table while Villa are one point off the drop zone after losing three of their first five League matches. Villa lost their last two home matches in the League but that was almost a month ago, but they have won four of their last five home and away so their form is hot.

Villa have scored three goals in each of their last three matches so they should be good for goals. Brentford will be a tough nut to crack as they are good on the road and haven’t lost this season, winning six of their last nine matches. Their last match saw them smack Chelsea 3-0 and they have scored 29 goals in their nine matches this season.

We should see plenty of goals here, but the only good payout is for four goals or more, so a Villa win with both teams to score offers a healthy payout although Brentford won’t roll over easy.

Ipswich vs Fulham

Fulham are winless in the League this season, losing three times and with a goal spread of 5:8 but they have had an uptick in fortunes coming into this match. Ipswich also have three defeats on their books but have picked up two wins.

Ipswich have lost four of their last five matches and have failed to score twice while conceding 12 goals in three of those five matches. Fulham are undefeated in three matches, beating West Ham 3-2 in the League Cup and they have been good in the Premier League, drawing 0-0 away to Liverpool and holding Man United 1-1 at home in their last two League matches, so I’m backing Fulham for the win.

Sunderland vs Brighton

Sunderland had scored just four goals in five matches ahead of their thrilling 5-3 defeat away to Man City in their last match before the international break. They’ve lost three of their five matches in the EPL this season, with a goal spread of 6:10.

Brighton are on a stormer, winning three of their five matches this season with a goal spread of 16:5 to push them up to third on the table. They have won their last three matches on the bounce with two clean sheets and 11 goals in the bank. They won their last match 3-0 away to Arsenal so Sunderland are unlikely to take anything from this match.

Man United vs Spurs

United and Spurs are both having a shocker and will hope the international break will bring a fresh start. United have just two points in their last three League matches and have lost two of their last three in all competitions, but they will have taken heart from a strong performance at home in the Manchester derby despite losing 1-0 in controversial circumstances.

Spurs have three defeats and two draws in their last five matches but failed to score in three of those matches. They only have one goal in their last three matches on the road so I’m backing United to win with a clean sheet.

I’m backing both sides to score as Villa hand Brentford their first defeat of the season. Struggling Ipswich look set to go down to Fulham, Brighton to batter Sunderland while Man United to get back to winning ways against Spurs.
