English Premier League Predictions - 2 May 2026, Matchday 35

Editor
Last updated: 1 minute ago

This preview for EPL Matchday 35 forecasts draws in both Brentford vs West Ham and Arsenal vs Fulham, as neither favorite looks dominant in current form. Brighton are set for a win at struggling Newcastle, with Sunderland favored to beat Wolves, likely keeping a clean sheet. Arsenal’s title charge is threatened by goal-scoring woes, while both Brentford and West Ham are fighting for their season objectives. Key recommendation: look for draws in tense matches and back in-form away sides. Odds highlight value on outcome combinations.

English Premier League Predictions - 2 May 2026, Matchday 35

Brentford vs West Ham

West Ham could slip into the relegation zone with one bad result going against them, but they’re up against a Brentford side still in with a shout of a place in Europe. Brentford haven’t won any of their last seven matches, picking up five draws, while West Ham have won three and drawn two of their last six matches in the League.

At home Brentford have drawn four and lost two of their last six matches, scoring just five goals and failing to score in three matches, although they earned a good 1-1 draw with Arsenal. West Ham have won three of their last seven League matches on the road, losing to Chelsea, Aston Villa and Liverpool.

They have fight in them but I can’t seen them beating Brentford. The home side are far from brilliant at the moment, so this could well be a score draw, with neither side able to finish the other off.

Newcastle vs Brighton

Newcastle are almost safe from relegation, but they’re not going to have an easy time against a Brighton side fighting hard to hold onto their Europa League spot. Newcastle have lost four on the bounce in the League, while Brighton have four wins and a draw in their last five matches.

Newcastle have just one point and four goals from their last four home matches, so St James Park is no fortress at the moment. Brighton are unbeaten in their last four matches on the road, winning three matches to nil before a 2-2 draw with Spurs in their last match. It would take a brave sports fan to back Newcastle in this match.

Wolves vs Sunderland

Wolves have already lost the relegation battle while Sunderland are still in with a shout for a place in Europe. Sunderland’s form isn’t great, losing four of their last six matches, but they are unbeaten in four of their last six matches on the road. Wolves showed real fight by beating Aston Villa 2-0 and Liverpool 2-1 in their next match, but since then they have lost four of their five matches, drawing the other match.

Wolves have lost to nil in their last three matches, so I’m sticking with that trend to back a Sunderland win to nil, even though The Black Cats aren’t in great form. They are sure to raise themselves for a match that should be an easy three-pointer given Wolves’ season.

Arsenal vs Fulham

Fulham have had a pretty decent season and are sitting 10th on the table, just one point off the European spots. Arsenal have a three-point lead at the top but have played one match more than Man City, so they can’t afford to slip now.

Arsenal’s sublime early season form has waned in recent weeks and they have lost two of their last three League matches, while Fulham have lost just one of their last five matches in the League. Arsenal have lost four and drawn two of their last eight matches as their dreams of the quadruple have been downgraded to a possible double (or nothing). More worrying for the Gunners is their lack of goal-scoring, with Arteta's tiring lads netting just six goals in their last eight matches.

Fulham’s form away from home is poor, winning just two of their last nine matches and failing to score in their last three. However, Fulham have conceded just eight goals in their last 10 matches and, given Arsenal’s struggles to score and the pressure of the title race weighing on them, I’m taking a small leap of faith and backing a draw. There are really enticing odds on a 0-0 scoreline (11.00) and I’m toying with taking a flyer, but my main backing is for the draw.

Verdict

Draws in the Brentford-West Ham and Arsenal-Fulham matches, while it’s wins for Brighton and Sunderland.
