This article previews the English Premier League's final round of the 2025/26 season, highlighting matches with relegation and European stakes. West Ham are tipped for a crucial win over Leeds to keep their survival hopes alive, while a high-scoring draw is expected between Tottenham and Everton as both teams battle to avoid the drop. Burnley and Wolves, already relegated, are predicted to play an open match with goals likely. Notts Forest, finishing a strong season, are backed to defeat Bournemouth at home.

English Premier League Predictions - 24 May 2026, Matchday 38

West Ham vs Leeds

West Ham must win and hope Spurs lose to avoid relegation, although a win could lift Leeds up to 11th spot potentially, so they won’t be a pushover by any means. Leeds have three wins and a draw in their last five matches, so they have the form to cause West Ham headaches.

It’s not looking good for the Hammers, who have lost their last three matches on the bounce. Leeds only have two points from their last three matches on the road, while West Ham won two in a row at home before an agonising 1-0 defeat to champions Arsenal, so I’m fancying West Ham to take the win to keep their Premier League hopes alive.

Tottenham vs Everton

Spurs come into the match on the back of a draw and a 2-1 defeat to struggling Chelsea, but Everton have picked up just three points in their last six matches, so this should be Spurs’ big chance to beat the drop.

Spurs have won just two of their last seven matches, but they need just one point for safety, unless there is a 13-goal swing between their goal difference and West Ham’s. Everton have just two points in four matches on the road after a six-match unbeaten run.

Spurs have been poor at home, losing seven and drawing four of their last 11 home matches in the Premier League. I don’t think either side has the form to pick up a win, but with relegation at stake results can be unpredictable, so I’m going for both teams to score. Spurs have been goalless just once in their last 13 matches at home and have kept just one clean sheet while Everton have scored in each of their last nine matches, so there should be plenty of goals.

Burnley vs Wolves

Both sides have been relegated after terrible seasons, but they should give their fans something to cheer by playing with freedom and possibly giving some young players or fringe players game time, all of whom will want to impress.

Burnley have lost eight of their last 10 while Wolves have lost five and drawn three of their last eight, so there’s not much form to speak of, with both sides being goalless a few times in their last 10 outings.

Notts Forest vs Bournemouth

Forest have avoided relegation and enjoyed a great season in Europe, so they will be looking to sign off on a high and I think they will snatch the win. Bournemouth need a six goal swing over Liverpool to snatch a Champions League point, but I think their legs are done and their race is run after three wins and two draws in their last five matches.

Forest have lost just twice in their last 10 matches and are undefeated in their last six at home, and they should be pumped up playing in front of their home crowd in the last match of what has been an emotional season. Bournemouth are strong on the road but after such a powerful last month I don’t see them having the motivation to push that bit further with no real goal at stake. A home win for Forest loading.

Verdict

Wins for West Ham and Notts Forest. Tottenham and Everton to both find the net, while Burnley and Wolves to each score a couple with nothing to lose.
