Everton will play their first-ever competitive fixture at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday after leaving Goodison Park.

The Toffees played one pre-season friendly at the new ground and fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Roma. That result followed a 2-2 Premier League Summer Series draw with Man United.

David Moyes’ side then lost 1-0 at Leeds in their Premier League opener on Monday. Everton had eight shots and conceded a penalty with six minutes remaining.

Brighton had a strong pre-season and were unbeaten in five friendly games, winning four and drawing once.

The Seagulls completed pre-season with a 2-2 draw at Southampton and back-to-back wins against Wolfsburg. The South Coast team beat the German outfit 2-0 and 2-1 in the double header.

Fabian Hurzeler’s outfit couldn’t maintain winning form and were held to a 1-1 Premier League draw with Fulham. Matt O’Reily struck a penalty early in the second half before Brighton conceded in the 97th minute.
