West Ham vs Crystal Palace Predictions - Poor form for West Ham set to continue

Crystal Palace head into their EPL matchup with West Ham as clear favourites due to strong form and a lengthy unbeaten run. West Ham have struggled, especially at home, with four defeats from their last five matches, and issues within their squad. Palace, unbeaten in their last 16 matches, look poised for another victory, especially given their strong record against the Hammers at the London Stadium. The consensus points to a Palace win, likely with at least two goals scored by the visitors.

West Ham vs Crystal Palace Preview

Crystal Palance have begun the EPL season in superb form while West Ham are the complete opposite. The Hammers cannot buy a point at the moment, so I'm backing Palace to take advantage of that.

Head to Head

West Ham and Crystal Palace have met on 24 occasions in the Premier League since 2012. Crystal Palace won nine of those games, while West Ham picked up eight victories.

Palace have had the better of recent meetings at London Stadium, winning three and drawing three of their last six visits to this venue.

West Ham Form

West Ham's largely dismal start to the season continued last weekend with Tottenham emerging as comfortable 3-0 winners at the London Stadium. Three goals conceded in a disastrous 17-minute spell at the start of the second period ensured a fourth defeat in five for Graham Potter's struggling side.

Aside from a 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest at the end of August, the Hammers have struggled badly this season, leaking 14 goals in defeats against Sunderland (3-0), Wolves (3-2), Chelsea (5-1) and Tottenham (3-0).

A rotten record at the London Stadium remains a big issue for Potter's outfit. West Ham failed to win any of their last seven home Premier League games (D3, L4), while their only success in 10 previous league games at the London Stadium came in a 2-0 win against Leicester last February.

West Ham Squad News

Beleaguered boss Potter will be forced into at least one change from the side that fell to Tottenham last weekend. Tomas Soucek misses out after his dismissal for a nasty challenge on Joao Palhinha.

Scottish midfielder Andy Irving could earn a recall in place of the absent Czech midfielder.

Crystal Palace Form

Crystal Palace make the short trip to East London after making hard work of their EFL Cup clash against Millwall earlier this week. After a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park, the Eagles eventually emerged victorious via spotkicks (4-2).

Unbeaten since a 5-0 defeat against Newcastle in April, the Eagles have enjoyed a brilliant year, including FA Cup and Community Shield triumphs at Wembley. Oliver Glasner's tough-to-beat have not lost any of their last 16 competitive fixtures.

Particularly strong on the road, the Eagles scored an impressive 3-0 win at Aston Villa in their most recent away fixture. Palace also picked up a point against FIFA Club World Cup champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Crystal Palace Squad News

Head coach Glasner is likely to name the same side that was held to a goalless draw against Sunderland last weekend. Chadi Riad, Cheick Doucoure, Eddie Nketiah, Caleb Kporha and Ismaila Sarr are likely to remain sidelined on Saturday.

Verdict

Palace are in decent form, and will be confident of taking advantage of a Hammers side that has struggled badly at the London Stadium this year.

I fancy the visitors to win and to score two goals or more this weekend.
