Spain are favourites and rightly so after producing some superb football during the tournament. England have stuttered a long, struggling in games and coming up with dramatic late victories in their last two, including a penalty shootout win.

That said, England are the defending champions and while not playing well, have plenty of grit. It should be a good contest but ultimately, Spain are backed.

England Form

England reached their third consecutive major tournament final at the 2025 Women’s Euros. The Lionesses have been unconvincing in their run in Switzerland, winning just two of five matches.

Sarina Wiegman’s side were outplayed and lost their opening game 2-1 against France. The Euros title holders replied with a 4-0 win against the Netherlands and a 6-1 victory over Wales.

England scored two late goals to earn a 2-2 comeback draw against Sweden in the quarter-final. They progressed 3-2 victory on penalties.

The Lionesses required extra time again to advance from the semi-final after drawing 1-1 with Italy. Wiegman’s outfit conceded early and Michelle Agyemang scored in second half injury time before Chloe Kelly netted a 119th-minute winner.
