While Madagascar have had some decent results this year, against a full-strength Ghana side I don’t give them much chance. I’m backing the game to see over 2.5 goals.

Ghana’s form has not been very good this year, but they are one of the powerhouses of African football. They are regulars at the FIFA World Cup and will fancy their chances again in qualification.

Since September, Ghana have played three friendlies. They beat Liberia 3-1 but last 2-0 in Mexico and 4-0 in the United States.

Ghana have a very strong squad with players from all over Europe joining. Thomas Partey is however injured so he will be missed in midfield.

Madagascar Form

Madagascar failed to reach the AFCON tournament, but they still finished the qualification group with some decent results.

In their final two games, Madagascar drew 0-0 at home to Ghana and 0-0 away in Angola. While neither result turned into three points, the performances were more than solid.

Since then, they have played two friendly matches. Madagascar lost 2-1 in Mauritania and beat Benin 2-1 at home in their last match.

There is very little in terms of big names in the Madagascar squad. They are generally pretty solid defensively but do struggle in front of goal.
