Nigeria vs Lesotho Predictions - Nigeria backed in high-scoring game

Nigeria have won all four previous meetings against Lesotho. Their last meeting in 2021 ended in a 3-0 home win for Nigeria.

Nigeria have won four of their last five matches in all competitions along with one draw. Their confidence will be high as they look to qualify for yet another FIFA World Cup.

Nigeria breezed through AFCON qualifying recently despite a 1-0 defeat at home to Guinea-Bissau. In their final AFCON qualifier, they thrashed Sao Tome e Principe 6-0.

In the two friendlies since, Nigeria drew 2-2 in Saudi Arabia and beat Mozambique 3-2.

Nigeria is littered with talent across some of the top leagues in Europe. Victor Osimhen will be a huge goal threat after scoring 20 goals in his 28 international appearances. Atalanta's Ademola Lookman is another danger to watch out for.

Lesotho performed well earlier this year during the COSAFA Cup, winning three of their five matches to reach the semi-final stage.

Once in the last four, Lesotho lost out to Zambia 1-0. Their only match since then ended in a 1-0 away defeat to Ivory Coast in September this year.

Lesotho doesn’t have any big names, but they have performed admirably in 2023 They should give a good account of themselves.
