South Africa vs Benin Predictions - Bafana Bafana backed to win World Cup qualifier

These sides have only met once before and that was back in 2004. South Africa won that game 2-0.

South Africa are unbeaten in their last five games across all competitions. Their last defeat came in the COSAFA Cup semi-final where they went down 2-1 to Zambia.

However, in the five games since, Bafana Bafana have only managed one win and four draws. That victory came in a 1-0 success over Congo.

South Africa then drew 0-0 at home against Eswatini before a 1-1 draw against Ivory Coast. Bafana Bafana have only lost once in their last 16 games.

Hugo Broos has announced a strong side to face Benin in the World Cup qualifier. South Africa have not been to the World Cup since they hosted the tournament in 2010. 

While Bafana Bafana has gotten results recently, they do struggle terribly in front of goal. 

Benin are winless in their last four matches. Their last victory came in a 3-0 away success against Rwanda in March 2023. 

Benin followed that win with a home draw against Senegal before losing 3-2 in Mozambique. Another 1-1 draw followed in Sierra Leone. 

In their last fixture, Benin lost. 2-1 in Madagascar. It was a poor result considering Benin were big favourites heading into the match.

Benin will field their strongest side for this clash.
