Tunisia vs Namibia Predictions

Namibia will be very eager to get a result here to secure second place, but I just can’t see them toppling Tunisia who have been sublime in this campaign. I am backing Tunisia to ease past Namibia with a 2-0 success.

These two met in June 2024 in their first Group qualifying game. Namibia were excellent on the day, holding Tunisia 0-0. That is still the only fixture in which Tunisia dropped points.

Tunisia have cruised through World Cup qualification with eight wins and a draw in their nine matches. On 25 points, they are 10 clear of Namibia in second place.

This is the final qualifying game, so it has little meaning to Tunisia, although they won’t want to lose momentum ahead of AFCON later this year. In September, Tunisia beat Liberia 3-0 and Equatorial Guinea 1-0 away. Last week, against Sao Tome and Principe, Tunisa won 6-0.

Quite incredibly, in their nine qualifying matches, Tunisia have not conceded a single goal, scoring 19 in the process. That will make life very tough for Namibia who do not score many themselves.

Namibia are on the cusp of something special but with one game to go, it is a tough ask. They are second in the group and could reach the next qualifying round if they remain there, however, they are just a point clear of Liberia.

Perhaps Namibia’s best hope is that Liberia fails to win against Equatorial Guinea at the same time. Beating Tunisia does not look like a very likely outcome.

In September, Namibia lost 2-1 to Malawi away in World Cup qualifying before beating Sao Tome and Principe 3-0 at home. Last week, in a crucial fixture against Liberia, Namibia fell short, losing 3-1. They just needed a point in that game to secure second place.
