Head to Head

Russia drew 1-1 with Nigeria in a friendly international played in June 2025.

Russia Form

Russia had back-to-back successes in two friendly internationals played between the end of September and last weekend, beating Iran 2-0 before thrashing Namibia 6-0.

Before that, the Russians lost 1-0 to Egypt before defeating Burkina Faso 3-0 and Trinidad & Tobago 3-0 in three international friendlies between May and June.

Sbornaya have won four of their last five matches, with one defeat. They scored 14 goals and conceded six.

Russia have been in fine form at home lately, winning four in a row comfortably in front of their fans, giving them the advantage to come out on top against Nigeria.

Nigeria Form

Nigeria had mixed fortunes in their recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September, beating Madagascar 2-1 before losing 3-0 to Guinea-Bissau.

In June, Nigeria faced Portugal and Poland in two international friendlies, losing 2-1 and drawing 2-2, respectively.

The Super Eagles have won two of their last five matches, with two defeats and one draw. They scored eight goals and conceded eight.

Nigeria have lacked consistency lately and have been prone to leaking goals at the back, making the challenge against Russia a difficult one, as their opponents have been scoring plenty of goals lately.
