Sudan were narrowly defeated by Madagascar 1-0 in their CAF African Nations Championship semi-final clash on Tuesday.

Sudan had chances against Madagascar, but could not score during the match before their opponents scored late in the 116th minute to secure the win. 

The Falcons of Jediane had 49% possession and 15 shots in the game with four on target. 

Sudan drew 1-1 against Congo, thumped Nigeria 4-0, drew 0-0 against Senegal, and beat Algeria 4-2 on penalties in the quarter-finals after the match had ended 1-1. 

The Falcons of Jediane have won two of their last five fixtures, including one loss and two draws. They scored six goals and conceded three.

Sudan have done well in the tournament but face a side they have yet to defeat, having lost three of their five meetings with Senegal, including two draws.

Senegal came up short against Morocco in their CHAN semi-final encounter on Tuesday, losing 5-3 on penalties after the match had ended 1-1. 

Senegal had a solid start against Morocco, taking the lead after 16 minutes of play before their opponents levelled matters seven minutes later.

The Lions of Teranga had opportunities to score the winning goal during the remainder of the contest, but the match was decided via a penalty shootout. 

Senegal had 38% possession and 12 shots during the game, with four on target.

Senegal edged Nigeria 1-0, drew 1-1 with Congo, and drew 0-0 against Sudan during the group stages before beating Uganda 1-0 in the quarter-finals.

Senegal failed to defend their title in this edition of CHAN, but will fancy their chances of finishing third in the tournament, as they have never lost to Sudan.
