Central defender Dan-Axel Zagadou, left back Nico Schulz and midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud are injured.

Forwards Marco Reus is injured and Erling Haaland is doubtful after limping off against Bayern Munich.

Centre back Mats Hummels and midfielder Axel Witsel could return to the starting side against Hertha.

Hertha Berlin have been impressive since the break under newly appointed manager Bruno Labadia. They won 3-0 at Hoffenheim and 4-0 in the home derby against Union Berlin.

This was followed with an impressive 2-2 draw away against RB Leipzig before a 2-0 home win against Augsburg last time out.

Javairo Dilrosun opened the scoring and Krzysztof Piatek added the second in added time.

Central defenders Karim Rekik and Niklas Stark are injured alongside goalkeeper Thomas Kraft. Holding midfielder Santiago Ascacibar and winger Marius Wolf are also out.

Forward Salomon Kalou has been suspended and has played his last game for the club.
