What the break has done to teams is however unknown as yet. Momentum has surely stalled, if not completely been lost. But Leverkusen has shown enough quality to overcome a desperate Bremen.

Peter Bosz’s side crushed Eintracht Frankfurt 4-0 in their last home match. Their last official match ended in a 3-1 victory at Rangers in the UEFA Europa League.

Kai Havertz scored first again, Charles Aránguiz made it 2-0 while Leon Bailey came off the bench to add a third.
