Chippa welcome back Isaac Nhlapo at centre back and Sizwe Mdlinzo in central midfield for this match after suspension. This gives more options but doesn’t strength the starting XI.

It remains to be seen if Dan Malesela will pick an outright striker or go with a false nine.

Orlando Pirates Form

Pirates jumped to 3rd in the PSL table after their win in midweek but although they’re only four points off Mamelodi Sundowns at the top, they have played three matches more.

After an inconsistent season, Pirates have found some momentum of late thanks to some cup wins. They beat Uthongathi 1-0 at home in the Nedbank Cup and won both home and away against Jwaneng Galaxy in the CAF Confederations Cup. They also beat an understrength Maritzburg United 3-1 away in the Nedbank Cup.

Pirates beat Celtic 1-0 in the PSL last time out at home but faced ten men for the entire second half.

Orlando Pirates Injuries & Team News

After a wrath of injuries, things are looking rosier for Pirates in terms of squad options. Tshegofatso Mabasa and Gabadinho Mhango returned as subs in attack for the last match and Thembinkosi Lorch is nearly back too.

Thabang Monare has returned from suspension so the midfield depth has been boosted. He may have to make do with a place on the bench for this match.
