Ntwari signed from TS Galaxy
Amakhosi have bolstered their goalkeeping ranks with the acquisition of Rwanda international Fiacre Ntwari from TS Galaxy.
- Ntwari signed from TS Galaxy
- Dortley Lands for Eight Million Rand
- Chivaviro Hits Four in Preseason Win
The shot-stopper played for clubs such as Intare FC, Armee Patriotique Rwandaise [APR] FC, Marines FC and AS Kigali before his big move to the DSTV Premiership.
Last term, Ntwari kept 13 clean sheets in 32 matches for The Rockets. Chiefs’ new goalkeeper coach, Ilyes Mzoughi has seemingly approved the move.
Itumeleng Khune’s absence from preseason and his expected retirement or redeployment has made space for a third goalkeeper. Ntwari will compete for the number one jersey with Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma.
Dortley Lands for Eight Million Rand
In addition to strengthening the goalkeeping ranks, Chiefs have signed another defender. Rushwin Dortley has been bought from relegated Cape Town Spurs.
The fee for the left-footed defender is said to be R8 million. Dortley largely featured in central defence last season for the Urban Warriors but he can play at left back too, where Chiefs have already acquired Bongani Sam from Orlando Pirates.
His arrival for the left centre back role may be bad news for Edmilson Dove and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe. It is unlikely that more than one of the latter duo or Dortley will start regularly.
Chivaviro Hits Four in Preseason Win
Amakhosi’s preseason preparations under new coach Nasreddine Nabi continued with a 5-2 win over Qatari top-tier club Al Shahaniya on Saturday.
Chiefs’ striker Ranga Chivaviro scored four of the five goals, while the club's starlet Mfundo Vilakazi netted the other goal.
Both players will hope for regular involvement in the season ahead after the departures of Keagan Dolly and Jasond Gonzalez in the forward areas.
