Mamelodi Sundowns drew 1-1 at home to Stellenbosch FC on Wednesday. Below are the player ratings for the Sundowns starting XI and subs. The Brazilians stayed second in PSL table, but have a game in hand over log leaders Orlando Pirates.
STARTING XI:
Ronwen Williams: 7
The goalkeeper made a fine save to deny Devin Titus in the first half. He saved a late penalty, but it would have been retaken as he had come off his line.
Khuliso Mudau: 7
The right back had a very strong game once again. He headed a good chance wide, and allowed very little to come down his side from the opponents.
Grant Kekana: 7
The central defender had a steady game with very few defensive actions required.
Khulumani Ndamane: 5
The centre back conceded a costly late penalty with a challenge which his coach described as reckless.
Aubrey Modiba: 6
The left back was excellent on the ball, but he made a big error in the first half which should have led to a Stellenbosch goal.
Marcelo Allende: 7
The midfielder played some lovely passes to find Arthur Sales between the lines. He could have been more aggressive defensively though.
Teboho Mokoena: 6
The midfielder played within himself at times. He controlled the match, but did not do enough to influence things in the final third.
Katlego Ntsabaleng: 7
The on-loan midfielder scored another goal with a fine finish. He moved between the flanks and central areas and is making it difficult to leave him out of the XI right now.
Arthur Sales: 9 - Man of the Match
The Brazilian playmaker was superb. He assisted the goal, set up another valid goal which was incorrectly chalked off, and set up another good opening for Iqraam Rayners. Sundowns missed him after his premature substitution.
Tashreeq Matthews: 8
The winger was denied a valid goal, set up a great chance for Mudau and had some lovely dribbles. This was a return to top form for Matthews.
Iqraam Rayners: 6
The usually lethal striker had a quiet game against his former club. He missed one good opening, but struggled to involve himself in the play.
SUBSTITUTES:
Themba Zwane: 6
The veteran playmaker had little impact after coming on.
Brayan Leon: 7
The Colombian was physical and busy. He looks to be ahead of Rayners in the pecking order right now.
Monnapule Saleng: 5
The winger looked a bit rusty and ran down some blind alleys.
Thapelo Morena: NA
Came on too late for a rating.
Jayden Adams: NA
Came on too late for a rating.
