After being Leicesterford City 2-1 in the Nedbank Cup last-32, they beat Milford 3-2 at home in the league. They’re winless in four matches since then. 

A 4-0 thumping at Cape Town City was followed by a 1-1 home draw vs Kruger United. They could only draw 0-0 at Hungry Lions before a 2-1 league loss at Leicesterford City last Saturday.

Three Straight Wins – Sekhukhune’s Slump is Over


After a run of one win in 10 matches, it’s now three straight victories for Sekhukhune. They sit just six points off the PSL summit, but have played a match more than the log leaders. 

Sekhukhune lost 1-0 at home to Stellenbosch after the AFCON break. A 0-0 draw vs Orlando Pirates and a late 2-0 loss at Mamelodi Sundowns followed. 

They were outshot 22-5 in a 1-0 win at TS Galaxy before winning 1-0 at Highbury in the Nedbank Cup. Babino Noko beat Orbit College 2-0 at home in the PSL in the last match.

University of Pretoria (4-1-4-1): Mothwa; Mahlangu, Makara, Ismail, Msani; Mabaso; Teto, Julies, Phewa, Zandamela; Nxumalo.

Coach Kwanele Kopo is set to play his best XI. Tuks have a squad full of PSL experience and even some internationals. 

Abel Mabaso will anchor midfield. Veli Mothwa will play in goal, with Mamelodi Sundowns loanee Aphelele Teto a threat down the right wing.  

Sekhukhune United (4-2-3-1): Leaner; Mogaila, Ndlovu, Cardoso, Letlapa; Monare, Mkhize; Nku, Mncube, Makgalwa; Grobler.

Coach Eric Tinkler has Bradley Grobler back from suspension. The veteran striker may replace namesake Bradley Mojela up front despite the latter’s brace vs Orbit College. 

Central midfield Linda Mntambo is injured. Right back Tsepo Matsimbi is absent with an injury.
