Barcelona were favourites last week but had to settle for a 3-3 draw in the first leg. Inter were deadly on the counter and at home, they will offer even more threat. Another draw could be the result.

Inter Milan Form 


Inter Milan recorded just 0.90 expected goals, 29% possession, and three shots on target in last week’s UCL semifinal tie against Barcelona but still managed to secure a 3-3 draw, with Denzel Dumfries scoring a brace and Marcus Thuram also on target. 

In domestic affairs, Simone Inzaghi’s side sits in 2nd place in Serie A, three points behind leaders Napoli, with just three rounds remaining. 

After losses to Bologna and Roma (both 1-0) in late April, Nerazzurri returned to winning ways last weekend, defeating Verona 1-0 at home, with Kristjan Asllani converting a penalty in the 9th minute. 

Barcelona Form  


Barcelona dominated possession and created the better chances in the first leg, registering 19 shots at Inter’s goal, and were left frustrated by the 3-3 result. 

Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres both scored in the first half, while Raphinha’s second-half effort deflected off Yann Sommer for an own goal. 

Last weekend, Barcelona took another step toward securing the La Liga title with a 2-1 comeback win over bottom-placed Real Valladolid, thanks to goals from Raphinha and Fermin Lopez early in the second half. 

Hansi Flick’s side now sit four points clear of Real Madrid with four rounds remaining. 
  
They also defeated their archrivals in the Spanish Cup final in late April, winning 3-2 after extra time. Pedri opened the scoring, but Barcelona trailed 2-1 with 10 minutes left before Ferran Torres equalised and Jules Kounde netted the winner in extra time. 

Verdict

Inter Milan are likely to use the same strategy as last week, sitting deep in their own half and striking through counter-attacks. The Nerazzurri are unbeaten in their last 15 UCL games at Giuseppe Meazza, so I am backing another draw and extra time on Tuesday.
