PSV have slipped twice in Eredivisie this month, failing to beat NEC Nijmegen and Willem II. Juventus stepped up their game in February with back to back victories against Empoli and Como, so I will back Thiago Motta’s side to win the first leg.

Juventus’ results through January were quite disappointing, earning just one victory in seven matches.

The Old Lady wrapped up the previous month with a 2-1 defeat at Napoli (their first Serie A loss this season), followed with a 2-0 loss to Benfica in the UEFA Champions League.

Thiago Motta’s side ended their winless run on 2 February with a 4-1 home victory over Empoli, then made it two wins in a row last weekend by beating Como 2-1. Randal Kolo Muani stole the spotlight in both games, scoring four goals in total.

PSV Form

PSV punched their Champions League playoff ticket by securing four victories in last five rounds, beating Girona 4-0, Shakhtar Donetsk 3-2, Red Star Belgrade 3-2 and Liverpool 3-2.

Their most recent form has been inconsistent though, winning just one of the last three games across competitions. After conceding two goals in stoppage time against NEC Nijmegen (3-3), they eliminated Feyenoord 2-0 from the Dutch Cup.

Last weekend, the Lightbulbs once again slipped in Eredivisie and won just one point against Willem II 1-1 in front of the home crowd and slipped down to 2nd place. Noa Lang broke the deadlock in 62nd minute but they conceded 20 minutes later.

It is still unclear if Thiago Motta can count on Andrea Cambiaso and Pierre Kalulu for this match, both being doubtful. Arkadiusz Milik, Bremer and Juan Cabal are confirmed to miss the PSV clash.

As for the Dutch side, defenders Adamo Nagalo and Olivier Boscagli suffered injuries last weekend, while Malik Tillman, Ricardo Pepi and Richard Ledezma are ruled out with long-term injuries.

PSV have lost three of their last five UCL road games, while also spilling a lot of points in Eredivisie this month. Juventus are tipped to claim their 3rd straight win and gain some advantage before the second leg.

I am also backing Juve’s Randal Kolo Muani to find the net. He bagged four goals in two games in February.
