In the upcoming Champions League clash, PSV Eindhoven, struggling with form and injuries, face an in-form Liverpool. Although PSV have shown resilience in recent matches, their record against Liverpool is concerning, with five consecutive losses. Currently leading their group, Liverpool are unbeaten in the last 30 competitions and look set to maintain their 100% winning record in the Champions League, despite some injury concerns. Liverpool's strength indicates they'll likely prevail, potentially completing their group stage campaign with an eighth consecutive win.

Head to Head

In six previous encounters, there has been one draw and five Liverpool victories.

PSV Eindhoven Form

PSV Eindhoven are inside the Champions League play-off positions with a three-point cushion. Three wins from four also means they can make the top eight with a win over Liverpool.

The Dutch side were winless in three domestic games, drawing with AZ and Excelsior and losing 3-1 to PEC Zwolle. PSV then saw off Crvena Zvezda 3-2 in the Champions League, despite facing 21 shots and have 43% possession.

Peter Bosz’s team won again in the Eredivisie, coming back from a goal down to beat NAC 3-2. Guus Till scored twice after PSV conceded early and Ricardo Pepi’s 94th-minute goal sealed the win.

PSV Eindhoven Injuries & Team News

Defender Ryan Flamingo was sent off against Crvena Zvezda and is suspended.

PSV’s top scorer in the Champions League Malik Tillman is injured and won’t feature.

Liverpool Form

Arne Slot’s Liverpool are the only Champions League team with a 100% winning record this season. They have a three-point lead at the top of the group and will go through as winners with one more point.

Liverpool are undefeated in 29 of their previous 30 in all competitions and have won 24. The Merseysiders have won four of their last five, including a 2-1 European win against Lille.

The Reds followed that victory by thrashing Ipswich 4-1 at home in the Premier League. Slot’s side had 16-3 shots and Dominik Szoboszlai, Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo got the goals.

Liverpool Injuries & Team News

Defender Joe Gomez and striker Diogo Jota are unavailable due to injury.

Cody Gakpo is likely to start after contributing five goals and two assists in his last seven appearances.

Verdict

Liverpool will be a step up in quality for PSV and the Dutch side are unlikely to stop the high-flying Reds. Slot’s outfit can complete their Champions League group stage campaign with an eighth consecutive win.
