Match Analysis

The Narendra Modi Stadium is a batting friendly venue with a quick outfield that encourages keeping the ball on the ground and minimising risks. The long boundaries also tend to make it a good field to chase on. The pitch will enjoy some early movement when the ball is hard and with some shine, so they will want to bowl tight in the opening overs.

The Titans also have a good mix of left-hand/right-hand batters to unsettle opposition bowlers, but they need to start building some substantial totals to make themselves a top-order to be feared.

The Titans enjoyed success for much of 2025 relying on the platform set by the top trio of batters, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler, who combined to score almost 2000 runs between them in the season. With the platform set their middle-order could hit out powerfully, but that formula lost its way in their opening match. The middle-order failed to fire, with the Punjab Kings slipping in to claim the win. Opposition bowlers will be targeting picking up two or three of these stars early to turn the Titans innings on its back.

The Royals have a fearsome pair of openers in Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger, with Ravindra Jadeja adding some testing spin that has seen him achieve an economy rate of 7.66 runs per over over 255 IPL matches.
