Punjab Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders Predictions

The Punjab Kings are level with the Knight Riders on six points but with a game in hand. Their batting has been strong and consistent this season, so I am backing them to outmuscle the Knight Riders.

Punjab Kings’ Shreyas Iyer has scored 97*, 52* & 82 in his last 5 innings.
Punjab Kings’ Prabhsimran Singh has scored 69 & 42 in his last 4 innings.
Kolkata Knight Riders’ Sunil Narine hit five sixes in his 18-ball 44 (S/R 244.44) against Chennai Super Kings.
Kolkata Knight Riders’ Ajinkya Rahane has scored 38, 61 & 20* in his last 3 innings.

Head-to-Head

The Punjab Kings have won three and lost two of their last five games against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Punjab Kings Form

The Punjab Kings’ strong start to the season took a turn when they lost to the Sunrisers by eight wickets.

After a blistering opening stand, Shreyas Iyer (82 off 36 balls) put the King on track to post a formidable 245/6.

Sunrisers put on 171 for the first wicket in just 12.2 overs as they raced to the win off 18.3 overs. Arshdeep Singh (1/37) was the best of the Kings bowlers.

Punjab Kings Team News

Punjab Kings are in good form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team.

Kolkata Knight Riders Form

The Knight Riders bounced back from their four-run loss to the Super Giants by beating Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets.

The Super Kings were pinned down through their 20 overs, ending on 103/9. Sunil Narine (3/13, econ 3.25) returned the best figures for the Knight Riders.

Sunil Narine knocked off a blistering 44 off 18 balls (including five sixes) as the Knight Riders raced to the win off 10.1 overs for the loss of just two wickets.

Kolkata Knight Riders Team News

The Knight Riders will be pleased to have picked up their third win of the season, but their batters have not shown the consistency they would like if they hope to make the playoffs.

Verdict

Punjab Kings v Kolkata Knight Riders - T20

I am backing Punjab Kings to win. I am also backing Shreyas Iyer to top score for Punjab Kings.

Sunil Narine is a good bet to top score for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
