Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Punjab Kings Predictions - Kohli to capture maiden IPL title for RCB

The upcoming IPL match sees predictions in favor of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, supported by the belief that Virat Kohli will be their top scorer. On the opposite side, Shreyas Iyer is expected to lead the charge for Punjab Kings. After 18 seasons of frustration, the IPL title will go to either the Royal Challengers or the Kings for the first time. I’m backing Royal Challengers to win as they have won their last two matches against the Kings this season.

  • Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Phil Salt scored 56* off 27 balls against the Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1.
  • Punjab Kings’ Shreyas Iyer (603 runs, ave 54.81) is 6th in the IPL runs list.
  • Punjab Kings’ Josh Inglis has scored 30, 32, 73 & 38 in his last 5 innings.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru made it three wins from their last four completed matches when they beat the Punjab Kings by eight wickets. 

The Kings were rolled for 101 off just 14.1 overs. Josh Hazlewood (3/21, econ 6.63) and Suyash Sharma (3/17, econ 5.66) were sensational with the ball. 

Royal Challengers reached their target for the loss of two wickets off just 10 overs to book their place in the final. Phil Salt (56* off 27 balls) top-scored for the Royal Challengers.

The Royal Challengers are in good form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team. Virat Kohli’s form with the bat will be key for RCB. 

Punjab Kings Form


Punjab Kings made it two wins and two defeats from their last four matches when they beat the Mumbai Indians by five wickets in Qualifier 2. 

Mumbai Indians batted well to post 203/6 off their 20 overs. Azmatullah Omarzai (2/43) returned the best figures for the Kings, but Kyle Jamieson (1/30, econ 7.50) gave the Mumbai batters the biggest challenge. 

The Kings timed their chase perfectly, reaching their target for the loss of five wickets and with one over to spare.  Shreyas Iyer (87* off 41 balls) and Nehal Wadhera (48 off 29 balls) shared an 84-run stand for the fourth wicket that set up the victory.

Punjab Kings Team News


The Kings have enjoyed a great season with the bat, but have suffered with a bit of inconsistency in recent matches. They will be looking for a top performance.

I am backing Royal Challengers Bengaluru to win. I am also backing Virat Kohli to top score for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
