Bangladesh vs Pakistan Predictions

Bangladesh missed out on the T20 World Cup due to political issues, so their players have ben without top-class competition over the past month. They should be fresh and eager to fire, but they are unlikely to beat a Pakistan side that has won seven of their last nine completed matches.

  • Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan has scored 100*, 63 & 100 in his last 3 innings.
  • Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan averages 41.72 (28.921 runs) in ODIs.
  • Bangladesh’s Towhid Hridoy hit 9 boundaries in his 98-ball 96 against Central Zone.
  • Bangladesh’s Najmul Hossain Shanto averages 31.57 (1705 runs) in ODIs.

Head-to-Head

Pakistan have won three and lost one of their last five ODIs against Bangladesh, including three in a row before the last game was rained-out.

Bangladesh Form

Bangladesh withdrew from the recent T20 World Cup on political grounds. They have won four of their last five games in all competitions. Their last ODIs were in October 2025, losing three of their last five games. They hit 28 sixes in those five ODIs at an average of 5.6 sixes per innings.

Najmul Hossain Shanto has only scored above 11 twice in his last 10 knocks, but he averages 31.57 in ODIs and has three tons under his belt. Towhid Hridoy will hope to build on his two recent scores of 98-plus as he looks to improve his ODI average of 34.18.

Litton Das has been slowly regaining form in domestic cricket, scoring 39-plus in four of his last eight knocks. Tanzid Hasan has been in good form domestically with the bat, scoring 88*, 54, 92 and 23 in his last five games, while Taskin Ahmed has scored 60*, 100* and 24 in his last four knocks.

Taskin Ahmed is one of Bangladesh’s bowling stars, with 117 ODI wickets to his credit and figures of 3/28, 2/46 and 2/56 in his last four games. Rishad Hossain has been bowling well domestically, taking 4/57, 3/65 and 2/49 in his last four games.

Nahid Rana is on fire with the ball, taking 2/33, 3/47 and 2/61 in his last three games, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz has gone wicketless in six of his last nine matches.

Pakistan Form

Pakistan won their last four ODIs after bouncing back from defeat against South Africa in the 2nd ODI back in November 2025.

Key for the Pakistan top-order will be the form of Mohammad Rizwan, who averages over 40 in ODIs, along with in-form Sahibzada Farhan, who batted superbly in the T20 World  Cup but has yet to play in an ODI.

Abdul Samad has earned a call-up after a great run of form in domestic cricket, scoring 40*, 61, 32, 82, 30*, 16 & 32  in his last eight knocks.

Haris Rauf has had a month off after doing well in the Big Bash, returning figures of 2/31, 3/23 and 2/27 in his last four matches. Skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi has taken a wicket in each of his last six matches, including figures of 2/16 against Australia and 4/30 against England.

Bangladesh vs Pakistan Team News

Litton Das has been called back to the Bangladesh ODI squad for the three-match series against Pakistan, along with pacemen Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam and allrounder Afif Hossain. Nurul Hasan, Jaker Ali and Shamim Hossain have all been left out of squad.

"We have provided opportunities to several players in the middle order, but unfortunately some have not done enough to secure their places," said chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain.

Litton Das has been short of runs in ODIs, not hitting double figures in eight matches since the end of 2023, but he has been brought back into the squad on the basis of his extensive whiteball experience.

"Litton Das may not have produced his best in recent ODIs but you can't overlook the experience of nearly a hundred international matches in this format. He has been working closely with the coaches on his game. We believe he will soon perform in the manner he is capable of. We are considering him as an option to strengthen the middle order," added Ashraf.

Pakistan have reacted to their early World Cup elimination by dropping batting superstar Babar Azam along with Saim Ayub, bringing in a number of uncapped players into the squad for the series. Abdul Samad, Shamyl Hussain, Maaz Sadaqat, Ghazi Ghori and Saad Masood will all be hoping to debut for Pakistan in the ODI series.
