  • New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell has scored 89*, 24, 29, 28 & 55 in his last 5 knocks.

Head-to-Head

India have won three and lost two of their last five ODIs against New Zealand, including the last two on the bounce to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

New Zealand Form

New Zealand will be looking for a massive improvement from their top order to avoid a clean sweep of defeats in the remaining matches in the series. Will Young and Tim Seifert have been in good form but have yet to make an impression in the series.

Henry Nicholls has scored 255 runs in 13 ODIs this year but Daryl Mitchell is their key batting threat. His fighting 55 in the 2nd ODI continued an outstanding run against India that includes four centuries and three half-centuries in nine innings. He averages 85.5 against India.

Kyle Jamieson has starred with the ball, taking 17 wickets in his last eight ODIs and picking up 3/35 in the 2nd ODI. Jacob Duffy has been another standout performer, collecting three wickets in each of the opening two matches.

India Form

India have dominated the ODI series through disciplined pace bowling, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead despite some unconvincing batting performances.

Gurnoor Brar has taken seven wickets in the series, including career-best figures of 4/30 in the 2nd ODI. Anshul Kamboj has provided excellent support, taking four wickets while maintaining an exceptional economy rate of just 2.61.

Rohit Sharma made 23 in the 2nd ODI and has scored 627 runs in 14 matches this year, while Shubman Gill has racked up 713 runs in his last 10 ODIs at an average of 101.86. Virat Kohli has cashed in with 1009 runs in his last 14 ODIs (average 90,00), with four centuries and five half-centuries.

There are no new injury reports and both teams are likely to field the same sides for the crucial third match of the series.
