The SA20 cricket tournament held in South Africa has moved forward slightly. Instead of starting in January 2026, it will now begin in December 2025.
With this being its fourth season, much is expected of the tournament. It is arguably the fastest growing T20 franchise tournament at the moment as the teams, mostly owned by IPL franchises, pull some of the biggest names.
What has been seen in the first three seasons is that this tournament is very unpredictable. The Sunrisers Eastern Cape has not been among the favourites in the first three years, however, they won the first two titles and last year ended as runners-up - it is difficult to not back them after reaching three finals.
On the other hand, MI Cape Town propped up the table in the first two seasons but bounced back to win it earlier this year in 2025. They are favourites at 3.50 with Sportingbet.
