T20 Blast Predictions, 31 May 2026 - Surrey to bounce back with third win

Nottinghamshire vs Durham

Notts are down three defeats with no wins in sight, and while their margins of defeat are improving they’re still looking way off the pace. Durham sneaked an opening win by 6 runs followed by a six-wicket win and a full six overs to spare.

Durham went down to Yorkshire by 58 runs in their last match, though, and with Notts’ slip in form I’m going to back the home side to get a win on the board at last.

Essex vs Derbyshire

Both sides started their campaigns with back-to-back defeats, followed by a win, but Derbyshire added a second win in their fourth match, while Essex have a game in hand.

Derbyshire’s back-to-back wins make them a good choice to the win, but Essex produced such a thumping win over Kent (nine wickets with 6.2 overs to spare) that I’m throwing my hat in their ring.

Surrey vs Kent

Both sides started with two strong wins followed by a defeat, but Kent’s loss was by nine wickets after being restricted to a score of 129/9 off their 20 overs.

Surrey’s top-order failed to fire but the middle-order ensured they reached a competitive score of 174/8 off their 20 overs. Their bowlers made Hampshire work hard for their win off 19.1 overs.

Considering Kent’s implosion and Surrey’s closer defeat, I’m backing the Londoners to pull off a fairly comfortable win. Sam Curran is their most in-form batter, having scored 32, 71* and 38 in his three innings in the series, so I’m backing him to score 24 runs or more in the match.
