T20 Blast quarter-finals Predictions - 15 July
In the latest county cricket matchup, experts are highlighting strong runs for Michael Pepper, Jason Roy, and Chris Lynn, with each tipped as key batters for their respective teams. Jack Leach emerges as the top bowling pick for Somerset, expected to deliver another stellar performance. Main betting odds: Jason Roy (best Surrey batter at 3.6), Jack Leach (best Somerset bowler at 6.0), and Chris Lynn (best Northamptonshire batter at 4.33). The clear advice is to back these players for individual accolades in their upcoming matches.
- Hampshire and Essex to battle out a tough contest.
- Runs to flow between Nottinghamshire and Surrey.
- Somerset to stay on the winning track by downing Yorkshire.
- Northamptonshire to bounce back by beating Gloucestershire.

Hampshire vs Essex
Two well-matched sides with similar records this season should create a tight finish, although Hampshire have the low odds of 1.68 despite losing three of their last five matches. They do have home ground advantage, but Essex have claimed three big wins in their last four matches, so their odds of 2.05 for the win are somewhat enticing.
Essex’s Michael Pepper has scored 47, 34 & 71* in his last four knocks and Matt Critchley has taken 4/16 and 3/16 in his last two matches, so I’d be looking to back Essex for the win with those two players to perform with bat and ball.
Nottinghamshire vs Surrey
Both sides lost their last group match but Notts had won their previous four on the bounce and have home ground advantage, yet Surrey have the low odds of 1.68 for the win. Notts are pegged at 2.05 for the win, which looks an attractive option, especially as Surrey took an 8-wicket pounding from Essex in their last match.
Joe Clarke (4.00) has scored 42, 56, 31 and 23 for Notts in his last five matches and would be worth backing to score runs, while his team-mate Liam Patterson-White (6.50) has taken 2/24, 2/7, 1/21 and 3/13 with his slow left-arm orthodox spin in his last four matches. Those are good options to back to be their side’s best performers with bat or ball.
I’m going with the crisp-hitting of Surrey’s Jason Roy, who is on a real heater with innings of 65, 103* and 50* in his last five knocks, even though the odds on him are lower at 3.60 because of his good form at the top of the order.
Yorkshire vs Somerset
Somerset are big favourites at odds of 1.76 for the win after picking up four victories on the bounce. Somerset’s Will Smeed (48, 89, 46 & 52) and Thomas Rew (57, 39, 46 & 42) have both scored consistently in their last four matches.
Jack Leach has also been in great form for Somerset, picking up 2/20, 3/32 and 3/20 in his last three matches, so it’s a tough choice between these three Somerset players, so I’ll go with the player offering the best odds.
Northamptonshire vs Gloucestershire
Northants were a team on fire, only to lose three of their last four matches. Gloucestershire have also lost three of their last five matches, so I’m going to back Northants for the win at 1.68 after winning nine of their 12 group matches.
Northants’ batters and bowlers haven’t set the statistical world on fire in their last handful of matches, but Chris Lynn has put some good runs on the board (75 and 117 in his last four innings). Lynn is fourth in the Blast runs list with 457 runs at an average of 50.77, so he looks the best banker in this match.
Verdict
Runs for Michael Pepper, Jason Roy and Chris Lynn, while Jack Leach is backed to star with the ball again.
