Pakistan vs South Africa 2nd T20I Predictions - Hendricks to make hay against Pakistan again

Editor
Last updated: 1 hour ago

South Africa's T20I form sees improvement as they head into the second match against Pakistan with confidence after securing a 55-run victory in the first. Reeza Hendricks starred with a top score of 60 runs, while Corbin Bosch and George Linde performed brilliantly with the ball. In contrast, Pakistan struggled to gather momentum despite promising starts from Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub. With a second chance in the series, Pakistan looks to inspire their middle order, pinning hopes on Babar Azam. Both teams aim for key performances to sway the series in their favor.

Pakistan vs South Africa Predictions

South Africa’s form in T20Is has been patchy, and they are missing some first-choice players who are being rested for the Test tour to India. The ‘second-stringers’ pulled off a great performance in the 1st T20I, and there’s no reason why they won’t make it 2-0 in the second match of the series.

  • South Africa’s Reeza Hendricks hits a T20I half century every 4.42 innings.
  • South Africa’s Tony de Zorzi has scored 33, 104, 55 & 33 in his last 5 innings.
  • Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan hit three sixes in his 38-ball 57 in the Asia Cup final.
  • Pakistan’s Saim Ayub hit four sixes in his 28-ball 37 in the 1st T20I.

Head-to-Head

South Africa have won three and lost one of their last five T20Is against Pakistan. The other match was rained-off.

Pakistan Form

Pakistan suffered their third defeat in five T20Is when they lost to the Proteas by 55 runs.

Mohammad Nawaz (3/26) knocked over half of the Proteas’ top six, but it was not enough to prevent them from posting 194/9 off their 20 overs.

After a good start thanks to Sahibzada Farhan (24) and Saim Ayub (37 off 28), Pakistan crashed to 89/7 on the way to being bowled out for 139 with 11 balls in hand.

Pakistan Team News

Pakistan need their middle-order to come to the party if they hope to level the series. They will be hoping for big runs from Babar Azam.

South Africa Form

South Africa ended a two-match losing streak by beating Pakistan by 55 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Reeza Hendricks (60 of 40 balls) produced an innings of class to set South Africa up for a competitive score of 194/9 off their 20 overs.

Corbin Bosch (4/14, econ 3.50) and George Linde (3/31) starred with the ball as Pakistan were rolled for 139 off 18.1 overs.

South Africa Team News

There are no injury reports from the South Africa squad, but they are missing some of their first-choice players who are resting ahead of the Test tour to India.

Verdict

I am backing South Africa to win. I am also backing Reeza Hendricks to top score for South Africa again.

Sahibzada Farhan is a good bet to top score for Pakistan.
