India have put themselves in a fantastic spot to draw the series, which is the best they can hope for after they fought valiantly to draw the match in Manchester. India batted for 143 overs on the fourth and fifth days to earn a hard-fought draw.

England will have to earn their win in this series without Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer, who will not play a part in the final Test.

England Form

England will feel somewhat burdened by the fact that they couldn't close out the win in the fourth Test. India batted for five sessions, losing just four wickets.

To be fair to England, the pitch was quite docile for a day four and five pitch. Nevertheless, that has given India a chance to level the series and the way England play, a draw is unlikely again.

England will be pleased with the return to form of some of their main batters at the top, including Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope. Joe Root has been in typically sublime form as well.

England named their playing XI for the final Test. Chris Woakes will keep his spot while Jacob Bethell will take Ben Stokes’ No. 6. Gus Atkinson and Josh Tongue will also return along with Jamie Overton.

"We know that the series is still on the line here," Stokes said. "It's been toe-to-toe throughout the whole series so far. We know that India will be coming out fighting, because they don't want to leave England with a loss. The next best thing for them is a draw, so we'll be doing everything in our powers to not let that happen."

India have fought admirably through this series and lost key moments in a pivotal third Test. Hundreds from Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar will help the team believe in their own momentum and confidence.
