After India’s innings and 140 run thumping of the West Indies in the 1st Test there’s little evidence that the visitors have anything up their sleeves to offer India any resistance in the 2nd Test. The Delhi pitch will also massively favour India.

India’s Ravindra Jadeja has taken 4 wickets in an innings twice and scored two undefeated tons in his last three Tests.
India’s Mohammed Siraj took 4/40 & 3/31 against the West Indies in the 1st Test.

India made it three wins from their last four completed Tests when they beat the West Indies by an innings and 140 runs.

India bowled India out twice cheaply, with Jasprit Bumrah (3/42) and Mohammed Siraj (4/40) striking in the first innings, with Siraj again (3/31) and Ravindra Jadeja (4/54) doing the business in the second innings.

India declared their first innings closed on 448/5, with centuries from KL Rahul (100), Dhruv Jurel (125) and Ravindra Jadeja (104*). It proved enough to secure the innings win.

India are in good form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team.

West Indies Form

West Indies suffered their fourth defeat in four Tests when they lost to India by an innings and 140 runs.

India staged a mini recovery from 42/4 in their first innings, but they lost their last four wickets for 18 runs, Justin Greaves top-scoring at No 7 with 32. Roston Chase (2/90) was the best of the West Indies bowlers as they chased leather in India’s 448/5 declared.

The West Indies’ second innings lasted just one over longer than their first innings, as they were dismissed for 146. Greaves (25 off 52) again contributed with the bat, but it was Alick Athanaze (38 off 74) who provided the greatest resistance in a dying cause.

West Indies Team News

The West Indies played both of their squad spinners in the 1st Test, so they can’t bring in any additional spin options for the final Test at spin-friendly Delhi. If anything, they might look to bring in an added batter as they need to be scoring closer to 250 per innings to have any chance of even scraping a draw against India.

I am backing India to win. I am also backing Ravindra Jadeja to be the Player of the Match, with Mohammed Siraj another player worth backing.
