Race 2 – Winterworldoflove (1)

The 3-yr-old bay filly Winterworldoflove enjoyed a great debut 24 days ago in a strong field at Durbanville, running a strong race to claim third place. She will have to outgun fellow 3-yr-old bay filly Peach Cobbler, who claimed second spot ahead of Winterworldoflove in that race at Durbanville, which was her second.

It’s going to be tight between these two but I’m backing her to have learned a lot from her debut, and with Callan Murray in the saddle I’m confident in backing her for a first win and Murray for his 482nd career win.

Race 4 – Mighty Mary (6)

Jockey: R Fourie

Trainer: Vaughan Marshall

Apricity (15.00) claimed finishes of 2-3-2 before blowing out to finish second from the back in her last race. Kituba (7.00) won her last race after a 59-day break following her first three races that saw her place a disappointing 7-5-8, so it remains to be seen if she can maintain.

Hampstead Heath is not yet listed in the odds but won her last race on the back of 6-3-3-7-6 finishes, but I’m backing the consistency of Mighty Mary. The 4-yr-old bay filly has run 5-1-4-2 coming into this race and looks a solid bet.

Race 6 – Cork Bay (2)

The 5-yr-old bay gelding Cork Bay has an incredible track record of two wins, two seconds and two thirds in his seven-race career. Cork Bay had a disappointing 10th place finish in January, but his other six starts were all strong Top 3 finishes.

Competition from recent race winners will come from Another Hero at 13.00 (4-3-2-1), Meet the King (10.00), Jou Lekker Ding (17.00), Sooty (4.35) and Behave Harris (12.00). Cork Bay’s strongest contender comes from the consistent Lyrical Gangster (4.00), who has three second places in his last four runs.

Race 8 – All About Al (2)

Jockey: Craig Zackey

Trainer: Adam Marcus

The 9-yr-old bay gelding All About Al has seven wins from 55 starts under his belt, along with 21 other Top 3 finishes and comes into this race after a stormer of a year. Since September 2025 he has placed 3-2-3-4-3-1-5-6-1-2 and looks in fine form.

It won’t be a walk in the park for him by any means, with Flying Finley (5.00) claiming two wins in three coming into this race. Trois Sept Huit (5.00) has also been in form, running 3-1-2-1 coming into this Saturday’s showpiece race.
