Race 5 – Honorine’s Gimmie (4)

Honorine’s Gimmie is the strong favourite and comes into the race on the back of 1-4-2 finishes. The 5yr-old bay gelding struggled through 2024 and 2025 but seems to have found good racing form.

He will have strong competition from Slash ‘n Burn and Bourne Supremacy, both coming into the race on the back of first place finishes.

Race 6 – Tripping Thunder (9)

Jockey: Chad Little

Trainer: Juan Nel

Roman Agent is the bookies favourite at 3.00, with a powerful track into this race with finishes of 1-3-2-2-3. Lotus Silk (2-1-8-2-1) and Tripping Thunder (4-1-1-0-1) are strong challengers.

Tripping Thunder had a bad run two races back, finishing 12th, but the 5yr-old bay gelding bounced back with a win in his last race, and there are attractive odds on his win which makes him worth backing in what should be a tight race.

Race 7 – Hat Montera (3)

Jockey: Mickaelle Michel

Trainer: Kelly Mitchley

The field of eight looks set for a three-horse tussle between Homing Pigeon, Heliotrope and Hat Montera. Homing Pigeon (2-3-1-3-1-3) is the hot favourite at 1.91, followed by Heliotrope (4-4-3-1-5) at 3.75.

Hat Montera is my pick to take the win, as the 5yr-old bay filly has had a 31-day break from the track. Before that she placed 1-4-2 after a 177-day break after a superb stretch of 1-2-1-2-5 finishes.

Race 9 – Kleinzee (3)

Jockey: Eduan Muller

Trainer: Alan Greeff

This looks like Kleinzee’s race and the chance to complete a hat-trick of wins for the 5yr-old bay filly. Coming off a 41-day break after a pair of wins in May, she went through a struggling patch in late 2025 after another set of back-to-back wins in March and April 2025 but is looking strong and finishing well.
