In the Currie Cup the Sharks have performed to a reasonable level in their opening two matches. They beat Griquas 30-16 on the opening weekend before narrowly losing out 32-31 to Western Province.

The British and Irish Lions could not have hoped for a better start to their South African tour. They look every bit of a team that will challenge the world champions in the Test series.

Prior to their arrival in South Africa, the Lions beat Japan 28-10 at Murrayfield. That was followed by a 56-14 win over the South African Lions in their first tour match.

A few days ago the B+I Lions defeated the Sharks 54-7 and will meet the same opponents this weekend. That is because the Bulls had a COVID outbreak and cannot field a team.
