Chile vs Romania Predictions - Chile to prevail against Romania in Nations Cup clash

Chile and Romania each have one victory apiece in two meetings.

Chile beat Romania 40-16 in 2025. 

Chile took on Italy during the Autumn Internationals in November last year, losing 34-19 to their hosts.

Before that, Los Cóndores played against Samoa in two crucial Rugby World Cup qualification play-off matches. They drew 32-32 in the opening leg before Chile won 31-12 in the second leg to qualify for the finals to be held in 2027. 

Chile did well at the 2025 Sudamérica Rugby Championship, beating Brazil 35-21 and 35-20 over two legs in the semi-finals before losing to Uruguay 46-35 on aggregate in the final after winning the first leg 21-18 and losing the second 28-14. 

Chile have been in decent nick recently, winning four of their last seven matches, and they faced Romania last year, coming out on top by 24 points, which gives them the edge to win again. 

Romania had limited success at the 2026 Rugby Europe Championship, despite finishing fourth overall. 

They lost 30-24 to Germany and beat Belgium 23-6 before losing 44-7 to Portugal during the group stages. They subsequently lost 53-30 to Georgia in the semi-finals and 29-23 to Spain in the third-place play-off match.

The Stejarii played three internationals in November last year, beating Canada 31-21 before losing 26-18 to the USA and 31-21 to Uruguay. 

Romania have not been at their best in recent outings, often losing their matches, and they suffered a defeat to Chile in July last year, losing 40-16.
