Uruguay vs Georgia Predictions - Georgia set to win Nations Cup opener

Georgia have the advantage with three victories to one against Uruguay. 

Uruguay have yet to play a rugby international in 2026, but they did have some success in November last year.

Los Teros faced Portugal, winning 26-8 before losing to New Zealand A 45-21; however, they bounced back from that result with a solid 31-21 victory over Romania.

Uruguay come into their Nations Cup match against Georgia in decent nick; however, they will have to play well to get the result, as they have lost three consecutive matches against their opponents. 

Georgia performed well at the 2026 Rugby Europe Championship. They thrashed Switzerland 54-3, the Netherlands 61-12, and beat Spain 42-30 in the group stages. 

Borjgalosnebi eased past Romania 53-30 in the semi-finals but fell short against Portugal in the final, losing 19-17. 

In November last year, the Lelos played three matches during the international window. They beat the USA 43-30 and Canada 38-15 before losing 25-23 to Japan. 

Georgia will start confidently in their opening World Rugby Nations Cup match against Uruguay after their recent results, having won four of their five games this year.
