Connacht vs Munster Predictions

Connacht have been in excellent form at home lately and have had success against Munster in their own backyard in their recent derby clashes. Munster have not been at their best on the road in recent outings.

  • Connacht have won 4 consecutive home games in all competitions.
  • Connacht have won 3 of their last 4 home matches against Munster.
  • Munster have lost 6 of their last 7 away games in all competitions.
  • Munster have lost 4 of their last 5 away matches (URC).

Head to Head

Munster have a commanding lead with 27 victories to nine over Connacht in 36 meetings.

Connacht lost 17-15 away to Munster earlier this season.

Connacht Form

Connacht had no answer in their recent match against the Lions, losing 33-21 away from home after trailing 21-0 at half-time.

Connacht had been in solid form at home in the URC this season. They defeated Benetton 26-15, lost 28-27 to the Bulls, beat the Sharks 44-17, and lost 29-24 to Ulster and 34-23 to Leinster before beating the Glasgow Warriors, the Scarlets 31-14, and the Ospreys 21-14.

Connacht are 9th in the United Rugby Championship standings with 44 points from 16 matches.

Connacht have been in great touch at home lately, winning four in a row in front of their loyal fans, including three consecutive fixtures in the URC.

Munster Form

Munster were in fine form in the second half against rivals Ulster recently, winning 41-14 at home after leading 12-7 at the break.

Munster have had mixed fortunes away from home in the United Rugby Championship this season. They beat the Scarlets 34-21, Leinster 31-14, the Ospreys 26-10, and lost to Ulster 28-3, the Glasgow Warriors 31-22, the Sharks 45-0, and the Bulls 34-31 before thumping Benetton 45-15.

Munster are 5th in the URC table with 51 points from 16 games.

Munster have struggled to win on the road lately, losing six of their last seven fixtures, which is not the ideal form to have coming into their derby match against Connacht, as they have lost three of their last four visits to their opponents' stadium.
