This is probably the toughest quarter-final of the weekend to pick. I am going to put my neck out for the Stormers in the handicap market.

Glasgow finished the round robin stage of the tournament in fourth place, level with Leinster in third and just a point off second position.

The Warriors led the table for much of the final weeks but two defeats in South Africa over the last three weeks cost them. They went down 40-34 to the Bulls and 44-21 to the Lions. Last week they bounced back to beat Zebre 38-26.

Last week, despite the bonus point, would have needed to be by a far bigger margin. They should really have been far more convincing against a Zebre side at the bottom of the pile.

Glasgow are back to full strength this weekend for this quarter-final.

Stormers Form

The Stormers have made the last two URC finals, winning one and losing one, but will have their work cutting out getting there again. The Cape side have been inconsistent this season, especially away from home.

The Cape side are however on a four-match winning streak since suffering a shock 27-21 defeat at home to Ospreys in April. They bounced back to beat a second-string Leinster side the following week.

John Dobson’s side then beat the Dragons and Connacht away from home before seeing off the Lions 29-24 last weekend.
