France vs Spain U20 Predictions - France to continue their winning streak against Spain in World Rugby U-20 Championship clash

Editor
Last updated: 1 hour ago

France are the clear favourites in their U20 showdown against Spain, buoyed by six straight wins and a commanding 45-15 victory over Fiji in their opening match. Spain, meanwhile, suffered a heavy 90-22 defeat to Australia and has struggled in previous competitions. Given France's form and past head-to-head results, they are expected to comfortably cover the handicap in this fixture. Team news sees both sides fielding competitive line-ups, but Spain must improve their defence to pose a challenge.

France vs Spain U20 Predictions

France are strong favourites after winning their last six matches, including a commanding opening victory over Fiji. My best bet is France to cover the handicap.

  • France has won the two encounters against Spain.
  • France beat Fiji 45-15 in their opening match.
  • France has won their last 6 matches.
  • Spain lost 90-22 to Australia in their opening match.

Head to Head

France has won their two previous meetings against Spain.

France U20 Form

The French opened their campaign with a dominant 45-15 victory over Fiji U20. France asserted their dominance early, running in five tries in the first half to build a massive 33-0 lead by the break.

Tries were scored by Matheo Frisach, Romeo Bonnard Martin, Lucas Andjisseramatchi, and Gabin Garault, who scored a hat-trick.

France came into the tournament as undefeated U20 Six Nations champions, and this statement victory placed them in control of Pool D, which also includes Australia and Spain.

Spain U20 Form

Spain started their Pool D campaign with a heavy 90-22 defeat to Australia at the AIA Arena in Kutaisi, after trailing 49-0 at halftime. Spain showed character to score tries in the second half by Ivan Farace, Mauro del Campo, and Oriol Marsinyac Garcia (two tries).

Spain did not fare well at last year's World Rugby U20 Championship. They lost 49-11 to France, 33-30 to Argentina, and 35-25 to Wales in the pool stages.

In the ninth-place play-off round, Los Leones lost 43-12 to Georgia and 38-37 to Ireland to finish the tournament 11th overall.

Spain has found the going tough in the last two editions of the competition and will have to improve their defence to give them a chance against France.
