Namibia have failed to qualify for the Rugby World Cup for this first time since 1999. They have dominated the Rugby Africa qualifying section in recent history but suffered an upset earlier this year against Zimbabwe.
That defeat meant that Namibia had to come into this mini qualifying tournament to progress. In their opening game, they lost out 22-15 to Belgium. That upset was followed by a 26-8 loss last week against Samoa in a must-win game.
Prior to the qualifiers, Namibia managed a 22-19 victory over the lowly ranked Uganda but lost heavily to the Pumas and Italy.
Brazil Form
Brazil's improvement on the rugby field has been clear for all to see over the last year. They have never gotten this close to qualifying for the World Cup previously.
Unfortunately for the Brazilians, this has proven a step too far. They lost 48-10 to Samoa in their opening before a very impressive display last week saw them go down narrowly 30-27 to Belgium.
Before the qualifiers, Brazil shared a series 1-1 with Hong Kong and lost 45-17 to an Argentina A side.
