This article discusses the upcoming rugby match between Wales and France, focusing on the recent forms and head-to-head statistics of both teams. Wales has been struggling, losing 23 of their last 25 matches, indicating a potential decline to a tier two rugby nation. France, on the other hand, are the reigning Six Nations champions and have won their last seven matches against Wales. With France's current form and proven prowess, they are expected to dominate in the upcoming match, likely covering the -32.5 handicap.

Wales vs France Predictions

There is just no scenario where one can even imagine Wales getting close against this French side. France have world class ability all over the field and should cover the -32.5 handicap.

  • Wales have lost 23 of their last 25 matches.
  • France have won their last 7 matches against Wales.
  • France have scored 40+ points in their last 3 matches against Wales.
  • France have won their last 3 home matches.

Head to Head

France have won their last seven matches against Wales with the last Wales coming back in 2019. Last season, France thrashed Wales 43-0.

Wales Form

Wales have lost 23 of their last 25 games since the conclusion of the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Both victories came against Japan.

There is a real case of Wales becoming a tier two rugby nation, arguably, from a results perspective, they already are. The Welsh fall has been fast and dramatic with off-field issues compounding matters on the field.

Last weekend, Wales lost 48-7 to England at Twickenham. To end 2025, Wales lost 52-26 to New Zealand and 73-0 to South Africa.

While there were two wins and a defeat against Japan in 2025, Wales also conceded 50 points to Argentina in November.

France Form

France are the defending Six Nations champions and favourites to retain the title this year. England are their likely closest competitors.

After winning the Six Nations in 2025, France sent a second and third string squad to face New Zealand in July, a series they lost 3-0. In November, South Africa defeated France 32-17 in Paris, but the French bounced back with wins over Fiji and Australia.

Last Thursday, France was magnificent, thrashing Ireland 36-14 at home and will be hopeful that they can maintain that level of performance.
