Zamalek sit second in Group D. Only a win will guarantee them a chance in the CAF Confederations Cup quarter-finals. 

After drawing 0-0 with Egyptian rivals Al Masry on matchday three, they beat Petrojet 2-0 in the league match. Zamalek beat Al Masry 2-1 away in their fourth CAF group game. 

A 5-2 win in the league vs Kahrabaa Ismailia was followed by a 1-0 CAF loss at Zesco United. On Wednesday, they won 1-0 in the league against Smouha to stay second in the table. 

Just Two Losses in 17 – Kaizer Chiefs are Hard to Beat


Chiefs have lost just twice in their last 17 matches in all competitions. They have ten points in Group D of the CAF Confederations Cup, but qualification is not yet assured. 

They beat Golden Arrows 1-0 at home in the league before a 1-0 win at Zesco United in Zambia. A 1-0 win away at Marumo Gallants in the PSL and a 1-0 home win over Zesco United followed. 

Amakhosi lost 2-1 away to Stellenbosch to end their Nedbank Cup defence. Their last match brought a crucial 2-1 home win over Al Masry to take a big step towards the CAF knockout rounds.

Zamalek (4-3-3): Soliman; Ibrahim, El Wensh, Abdelmaguid, Khodary; Ismail, Wael, Hamdi; Dabbagh, Mansy, Sherif.

Coach Ahmed Abdel Raouf has a full strength side to choose from. This is a must-win match. 

Mohamed Shehata is an option to come into the XI in midfield if the coach wants more attacking threat.

Kaizer Chiefs (4-2-3-1): Petersen; Monyane, Kwinika, Msimango, Mako; Ndlovu, Maboe; Lilepo, Shabalala, Mmodi; Da Silva.

Chiefs’ co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalili Ben Youssef are without defenders Inacio Miguel (injury) and Aden McCarthy (suspended). Given Msimango will start at centre back. 

Fellow centre back Rushwin Dortley is still out injured. Thabo Cele is absent in the engine room.
