Mauritania vs Central African Republic Predictions

Mauritania failed to reach the finals of the previous edition of the Africa Cup of Nations but have been in decent nick this year. The Central African Republic have been in poor form on the road and are leaking goals. Mauritania are predicted to win to nil.

  • Mauritania have won 2 of their last 5 home fixtures.
  • Mauritania have scored 3 goals in 5 home matches.
  • Mauritania have conceded 3 goals in 5 home games.
  • Central African Republic have lost 4 of their last 5 away fixtures.

Head to Head

Mauritania have a slight edge over the Central African Republic, with three victories to one in four meetings.

Mauritania Form

Mauritania had some success in two international friendly games against Angola and Niger in June, drawing 1-1 and winning 1-0, respectively.

In March, the Lions of Chinguetti faced Argentina in a friendly international, but came up short, losing 2-1.

The Mourabitounes have secured one victory in their last five fixtures, with three defeats and one draw. They scored three goals and conceded six.

The Lions of Chinguetti have won two of their last five home matches, with two defeats and one draw. They scored three goals and conceded three.

Mauritania will fancy their chances to start their AFCON qualifying campaign with a victory against the struggling Central African Republic, as their opponents have often lost when playing away from home recently, and consistently conceded goals at the back.

Central African Republic Form

The Central African Republic faced Togo and Angola in back-to-back friendly internationals in June, drawing 1-1 and losing 3-0 to the team from Southern Africa.

C.A.R. have recorded one victory in their last five matches, with three defeats and one draw. They scored four goals and conceded 13.

Les Fauves have won one of their last five away fixtures, with four defeats. They scored five goals and conceded 13.

The Central African Republic must produce a solid defensive display, as they have a tough opening Group F Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritania, as their hosts play their best football at home.
