Nigeria Women Form

Nigeria booked their place in the quarter-finals of WAFCON with a narrow 1-0 victory against Botswana mid-week.

Nigeria created many opportunities to score in both halves against Botswana but had to wait until the 89th minute to break the deadlock and win the match.

Nigeria had 69% possession and 15 shots in the game, with four attempts on target.

Before that result, Nigeria thumped Tunisia in their opening WAFCON fixture.

Nigeria have recorded four victories in their last five matches, including one draw. They have scored nine goals and conceded one.

Nigeria have enjoyed an excellent campaign thus far and will fancy their chances to win their group outright when they tackle Algeria, as they have never lost to their opponents in four meetings.

Algeria dominated proceedings against Tunisia, but their finishing let them down, securing a point after the score ended 0-0.

Algeria had 70% possession and 16 shots in the match, with six attempts on target.

Before that, Algeria edged Botswana 1-0 in their opening Group B game.

Algeria have won three of their last five fixtures, including one loss and one draw. They scored five goals and conceded three.

Algeria require one point to reach the quarter-finals, but they have a poor record against Nigeria, losing all four of their encounters.
