English Championship Predictions - 28 February 2026, Matchday 35
In the upcoming English Championship fixtures, Wrexham is in top form as they aim to strengthen their playoff position against Charlton, who struggle with home performance. Southampton, after a rebound, appear strong contenders to defeat a winless Sheffield Wednesday. Millwall, close to a promotion spot, are expected to edge out Preston, while Ipswich, consistent at home, look set to overcome Swansea with a win-to-nil result. All predictions favor away wins and vital points collection as teams aim to secure their respective season objectives.
- Wrexham to pick up another priceless win on the road.
- Sheffield Wednesday to hit another defeat as Southampton look upwards.
- Preston to go down at home to Millwall.
- Ipswich to win at home to poor-travellers Swansea.

Charlton vs Wrexham
Wrexham are on a hot streak as they push to consolidate a prized playoff spot. Three wins and a draw in their last five Championship matches has given them a four-point buffer over Southampton. Charlton are four places off relegation so they’re by no means safe, drawing three and winning one of their last five games.
Charlton have lost five of their last 10 matches at home, scoring just nine times. Wrexham’s form on the road has been good, winning four and drawing one of their last five matches, scoring 10 goals. This one has Wrexham’s name all over it.
Sheffield Wed vs Southampton
Wednesday have lost their last 12 games on the bounce and haven’t won since September. The Saints have won six of their last eight games, scoring 17 times. Wednesday haven’t won at home since August, so there’s little in the way of form or confidence for the hosts.
Southampton had a bad run through December, losing four and drawing one of five straight games. Since then they have won three and drawn one of their last four games, so they shouldn’t struggle to crack the beleaguered Sheffield Wednesday. The Saints have scored 19 times in their last 10 road matches, while Wednesday have failed to score in seven of their last 10 games, so this looks like an away win with a clean sheet.
Preston vs Millwall
Millwall are four points off an automatic promotion spot, while Preston are five points off a playoff berth, so it’s all set for a feisty contest. Millwall have form on their side, with three wins in their last four games, while Preston have won just once in five.
Preston’s home form is inconsistent, with four defeats in their last 10 matches, scoring just 10 times. Millwall have lost four of their last 10 on the road, but they’ve won three of their last four away matches, so I’m backing them to slug out a fourth win on the road.
Ipswich vs Swansea
Ipswich are well placed to stay in the playoff spots, while Swansea look safe from any relegation headaches. Ipswich have eight wins and no defeats in their last 11 matches at home. Swansea are terrible on the road, losing eight of their last 10 matches, although they have two wins in their last five on the road.
Swansea have scored just nine times in 10 games on the road, scoring more than one goal just twice. Ipswich have scored 17 goals in their last eight home matches but have kept four clean sheets, conceding just four goals to their visitors. This sounds like another win-to-nil loading.
Verdict
Low-scoring Charlton to lose at home to high-flying Wrexham, Sheffield Wednesday to soak up yet another defeat, Millwall to pick up valuable promotion points, and Ipswich to crack Swansea wide open.
