Manchester City make the trip to St James' Park to meet Newcastle United in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday evening. City can still win a cup treble and I'm backing them to down the Magpies.

United qualified for the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with a scintilating 3-2 victory over West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns in March.

In terms of Premier League football, their return to action has seen the Magpies defeat Sheffield United 3-0 and draw 1-1 with Aston Villa at St James' Park. Dwight Gayle gave Newcastle the lead but Villa equalised late on in their last match.

Defender Jetro Willems will miss the cup tie with a cruciate ligament rupture.

Manchester City qualified for the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough in March.

City made a great start in the Premier League upon their return from the lockdown break, beating Arsenal 3-0 and Burnley 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

On Thursday night, though, they were defeated 2-1 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Kevin de Bruyne scored a cracking free-kick, but a red card for Fernandinho handed the impetus to Chelsea.

Utility-man Fernandinho will miss the clash after receiving a red card in the defeat at Chelsea while striker Sergio Aguero and defender Eric Garcia are both out injured.
